Walk down memory lane

Me, standing in front of the house :)
The home----notice the new sidewalk.

Walk down memory lane :)

This post is for my mom and dad and siblings :) I have 2 more pictures, but blogger won't let me add them. I'll post them above.
The old pine tree is still there and massive. The tree in the foreground isn't the pecan tree. It got replaced.
Front porch.
Living room fireplace and mantel.
The lighting sconces on the wall are still there :) Almost 40 years ago, in this very room, I watched with the world as the first man stepped on the moon.
Another view of the living room facing the street. Shari and Dave have traveled the world and their home is full of their memories and souvenirs.
Dave and Floyd visiting. Front door on the right----door way into Hollie's bedroom on left. It's now their den/office.
They took out the wall of the dining room to open up the kitchen. You can see where the wall was, to the left of the windows.
The original stove. Shari was going to replace it, but the new one just didn't look right in the kitchen.
Me, at the breakfast table. Toaster shelf in background :)
Another view with the corner cabinet that's still there.
They added on this new back patio. The double french doors are where the windows to my bedroom/sewing room were. The single door comes off the master bedroom.
This is my old bedroom/sewing room. They haven't redone it yet. The windows, now French doors are to the left. The table that let down, was covering the center shelves. There's still a closet on each side of the where the table was. The walls are still the painted knotty pine panels :) I'm sure there's still some dart holes from Roger's darts :)
Here's the downstairs main bathroom. The shower's still there too.
This is the master bedroom addition. The wall used to be just to the right of the big window. Now the old bedroom area is a sitting room.
The den/office. This used to be Hollie's room with the black and white checked vinyl wall paper :)
Shari's parents, Geri and Don.
Shari and Floyd on the back porch. The cinder block wall is still there.
Another view into the back yard. They haven't landscaped yet after the remodel. Dad's wood shop is now a room with couches, TV and kitchenette for their boys to hang out. The toilet door is now inside of that room instead of on the outside wall.
Picture taken standing on the top of the stairway looking towards the Larsen's.
Picture taken looking the other way to the opposite end of the upstairs. I remember dad putting in an air conditioner in that window. He tied a rope to it, outside, and had the neighborhood kids pull on the rope like tug 'o war. We pulled it up to the window, first try :)
Me and Shari in her new master bedroom.
Me at the kitchen sink.

Trip to California

On Sunday, March 1st, after Alivia's baby blessing in Pocatello, dad and I left for California. We stopped in Las Vegas and spent the night at the Luxor Hotel. I love the palm trees!
The next evening, Ben had his Piano Recital for his Master of Music degree. We stayed with Ben and Carrie until the next morning, when we left for San Francisco.
This is a picture of Fisherman's Wharf, taken from our hotel balcony.
We ate dinner at the restaurant at the end of the pier----Scoma's.
The Golden Gate bridge.
This tree was near the pool at the hotel.
Driving across the Golden Gate bridge.
View of Lombard Steet from the car window.
We did a session at the Oakland Temple before leaving the bay area.
Shari and her husband Dave. (Picture taken in the new addition.)

Home Sweet Home

On Wednesday, I got to visit the home I grew up in, in Modesto, CA. My friend, Shari, lived next door and 12 years ago, bought our house. Her parents still live next door. I only had a few pictures of when we lived there, but wanted to take pictures now in the same places! Here's what I got:

The family: Dad, Mom, Hollie in the back. Roger, Veda and Carolyn in front.
Looks better now :)
Me---Senior Prom 1973
There's a fireplace insert now, but the red brick and mantel are still there.
Carolyn at the kitchen sink :)
Same windows.
Me at the breakfast nook.

The toaster is still in the same place :)
