A Happy Camper (or a terrible grandma:)

After 2 evenings of trying to keep Jacob happy and out of trouble while I watched American Idol, last night I came upon this solution----put him in his high chair and let him watch Planet Heroes (he loves it) complete with snacks----tootie fruities and cheerios. We both enjoyed our shows and I was going to put his pajamas on at 8pm, but 5 minutes before that, I looked over and found this:
He's so precious when he's asleep! :)

Broken Windshield

Just one inch----if the rock had hit just one inch lower, It wouldn't have cracked----sigh. That's the way it goes :)

Driving home from Pocatello last week, 2 cars close together passed me somewhere on the back roads to Newton. The crack was so loud it about scared me to death, but I couldn't see anything wrong while driving. The cracks started the next day.

Dad ordered a new windshield on Monday and I took it in on the way to work this morning. After they got the cracked windshield out, they found out it was a heated window and had to order another one from Salt Lake. I had to wait about an hour longer at work before it was done, but then they came and picked me up.

Now I have a nice new windshield without the (fixed) star crack on the passenger side from when we went to Pocatello 2 years ago for Sammy's blessing :)

Visit to Charlotte's

I just got home today after spending a week with Charlotte and family. Livi is so tiny and adorable!!! I'm glad I got to be there and to spend some time with Sam too. We were "roomies" and got along great.
Only one night Sam was so tired, he went to bed at 7:20pm-----and was wide awake at 4:15am. I tried to get him to go back to sleep, but he kept making comments about the train whistle outside, shining his flash light on me, and trying to get up. I finally gave up about 6am and let him watch "Curious George" on my DVD player, complete with Cheerios and raisins for a snack, while I got in the shower :)
Pink at last!
Char and Jon playing with Sammy in the tent.
Just before I left to come home, I got this picture of Sam actually looking at Livi. That's the most attention I'd seen him give the baby!

Thomas the Tank Engine

A few years ago, I got this train set for Felicia's boys to play with when they came to grandma's.
It finally got taken apart and put away under a bed (and forgotten). On New Year's Eve, we had to move the couch so everyone could see the TV. Under it, was a little black "coal ball" from this set, which made me remember it :)

So, I got the 2 plastic zippy bags from under the bed and didn't have a clue how to put all the tracks and parts together. We even looked online to see if we could find a picture, but couldn't.

After everyone giving their 2 cents worth, (thanks Tyler), we finally got it put together right. Josh has spent hours watching Thomas and Percy move around the track getting "coal" dumped into their bins and unloading it into the "red thing" and scooped up again with the loader to be loaded onto the trains again.
I had to take pictures so we'd know how to put it together next time :)

Happy New Year 2009

For our 5th Monday FHE, we decided to have it New Year's Eve. Joyce planned a progressive dinner party. We started at the Hardy's with appetizers.

Then we went to grandma's for soup and bread sticks.
Next, we went to the Cooley's for Joyce's famous homemade doughnuts :)
We ended up at our house, minus a few people, for a movie. We were all tired and opted to watch the new DVD on Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley. It was only 53 minutes. I'm not sure if anyone stayed up until midnight----I didn't :)
