Thoroughly Modern Millie

Dad and I went to Pickleville Playhouse last night to see this show. It was a lot better than the movie and a fun story. There were some good one liners and laughs. We always enjoy going to see plays :)

"Daycation" to Salt Lake

We started our day by going to Hogle Zoo. Josh and grandpa loved the giraffes, but Tyler's in this picture :)

They had this display of bugs from all over the world. The big one is about 6 inches long. Yuck! I 'd hate to meet up with any of them !

Josh was excited to see the zebras. We decided they were white with black stripes :)

Weary travelers.

This big stone "world ball" was floating on water. You could rotate it by pushing. Josh loved anything that had to do with water.

Josh and grandpa at Temple Square :)

This is the dresser in the Beehive House. Ours had knobs like these before dad replaced them. Dad says there's another dresser that looks more like ours. We didn't get to see all the rooms on the tour yesterday. The corner details are the same on all the dressers.

Pioneer Trek June 2008

Most of you know that dad and I were the Food committee chairmen for our Stake Pioneer Trek in Wyoming this summer. We planned, cooked, and served 11 meals to 500 people over 4 days. We were recognized in Sacrament meeting today along with other Stake support people. They gave us this little (about 3"x2") glass laser engraved paper weight. It's really amazing to see the 3D picture inside.

I just found these pictures of dad and myself on the Stake Trek website. I took the camera, but never had time to use it!

This was taken while I was getting ready for the last night's meal. Troy caught me with his camera looking through the kitchen boxes for something. I was wearing my favorite apron. It was also a bad hair day :)
This is at Rock Creek Hollow where some of the Willie Handcart Co. were buried. We're reading the grave marker. We had a fireside at the amphitheater there that night.

Christmas in August, sort of :)

Every December I put this carpet on the front porch for Christmas and every January when I put it away, I think I'll clean it in the summer when I can do it outside. So, today I actually did it:) The only problem being I couldn't find the garden hose squirty gun thingy I bought a few weeks ago for that very purpose. It's been on the back porch with the pool toys. After searching for a few minutes, I went over to Tyler's house, and lo and behold, what did I see!

There it was! Tyler and dad were using it to mix the mud stuff to put on the walls for the rock.

Beans, beans, and more beans

Here's the latest batch of green beans. This one makes 108 pints. I don't even like canned green beans!
